Puffin in stained glass

Designed and made by Madeleine, and fitted in a bathroom door.  Using the opaque glasses - in this case the opal/white and the black add to the production time but the unusual effect is, we think, worth it!

The blue/green swirly glass is from Kokomo.  This glass is also used in one of the peacock panels, in the tail, though not very visible here.

Stained Glass Peacock

Our client rescued doors contacting the original, larger stained glass panels with this peacock from a skip in Bromley.  Here we removed all the old, quite broken surrounding glass and built the bird, which was not too badly damaged, into a new smaller panel, suitable for display.  We have a second peacock, which is more damaged to restore.  The pattern served as inspiration for a completely new panel, fitted in Streatham.

The design for this new leaded glass panel is based on an original pair of  panels that one of our clients found in a skip in Bromley - we are currently restoring these - hopefully pictures in the future.  The glass in the tail is from Kokomo Glass, and the mottled glass in the body is a Spectrum fusing glass

London, SE1, leaded hall doors

This pair of unusual leaded panels are based around a stylised beetle design, and created for the artist who originated the pattern.

They are made from strongly textured uncoloured irridised glass (Spectrum Baroque), and a 'wispy' grey/pink. The irridised glass changes appearance depending on the ambient light and viewing angle.

Croydon stained glass

Installed August 2009. Here we made a new centre panel - with the 2 doves, and several new border pieces. Previous the original leaded panels had been replaced with plain glass.

These 3 views - from the inside looking out, from the outside, and pre-installation against a difusing background, show just how variable the appearance of the same glass is under different conditions of light.










We particulaly like the aquamarine 'waterglass' in the centre, which is streaked with blue.
